Thames River Adventures Boat Trips:
Bisecting the Capital, the Thames River is the oldest and most important transport route in London. The beating heart of England’s trade and economy for centuries, a cruise on the Thames offers the unique opportunity to take in a world of historic landmarks from a uniquely privileged perspective.
Take a one-way trip from St Katharine’s to Greenwich or book a return journey – the choice is yours!
Just a few of the highlights you’ll encounter along the way include:
Tower Bridge – The world’s most instantly-recognisable bridge and a classic British landmark, Tower Bridge took 8 years to construct and was opened for the first time in 1894. Once the only bridge to cross the Thames River, the visitors centre at Tower Bridge is a must for those with an interest in this iconic structure.
Tower of London – A truly spectacular fortress positioned majestically on the north bank of the Thames, the Tower of London was one the world’s most feared prisons and is the current home of the Crown Jewels.
Canary Wharf – The business district of London set out over around 100 acres of islands and canals, Canary Wharf takes its name from its origins as an import dock for Canary Islands exports. It is now home to over 14 million square-feet of retail and office space.
Docklands — East of the City of London and slightly West of Canary Wharf, London’s Docklands tell the tale of the British Empire’s former power and prestige. An area of decline after WWII, the Docklands of today is a prestigious residential and business area with an array of important landmarks.
Greenwich — Birthplace of Queen Elizabeth I and King Henry VIII, the regal history of Greenwich oozes from its magnificent buildings and vistas. Boasting rich cultural diversity and an abundance of open green spaces, today’s Greenwich is one of London’s most enchanting and captivating neighbourhoods.
