The image on the left is from Henry Skrine's study of British rivers with Thamesis, God of the Thames, presenting a chart of Great Britain to Neptune, God of the sea. Tava and Vaga, Goddesses of the Tay and the Wye are represented in Scottish and Welsh dress and a fleet appears behind them in the channel.
To the left; Westminster Palace (Houses of Parliament), The Great Clock (Big Ben!) and Westminster Cathedral. To the right; Tower Bridge designed by Sir Horace Jones.
